Michaele's wonderful garden attractions in Tennessee

Today’s post is from Michaele Anderson down in Tennessee, who says, "Hi Michelle and fellow garden lovers. Here are some photos of some of the projects and tweakings from the past two seasons. I figure I should walk the walk of sharing pictures since I so enjoy everyone else's. I'm just an iPhone point and shoot type, so I apologize if the quality isn't as wonderful as I'd like." Michaele, youe iPhone photos are just fine. More than fine, actually--they're top quality! But the subject doesn't hurt. Your garden is the perfect blend of whimsy and sophistication. It's simply wonderful in every way. That succulent display table, though, is the BEST! But....the gates are a tie....

My dear good natured husband, Darwin, indulged my wish for what I call a succulent display table. He built it last spring and it's out of pressure treated lumber so it stays out all year.  I was tickled with the open drawers that I filled with ground cover type sedums.

I actually had to make a couple of attempts in doing this to end up with a result I liked. I was inspired by Pinterest-type pictures and humbly discovered it was harder than it looked!

OK, gang, I am outing myself with sharing publicly my touch of whimsy with what is called Gnomeville (thanks to cyber friend Phyllis for the name). The 3 (only 2 show in this photo) red gnomes are a contribution from Cherry and I smile every time I see them "working" away. I made the stoned bridge (ha, no, not that kind of stoned) and had fun creating the rock filled stream.

Every village needs a big personality and my crazed hare that I found at a thrift store stands at the top of the hill getting ready to crash the party.

Yes, I had a fun time haunting thrift shops, always on the look out for the perfectly silly thing to buy. The elf taking a snooze has a jug of Jim Beam by his side. Ha, no wonder he is nodding off.

Dear Darwin came through with another winning project this winter. We had those metal gates stored in our barn for 18 years and finally decided we had to bite the bullet and put them somewhere so we could enjoy them. Darwin did this whole project totally by himself and got it done just in time for my spring planting!
