Let's go to Bulgaria today! Balchik is a sweet, sleepy little town on the coast of the black sea in northeastern Bulgaria. The Palace and its botanical garden are the town's most popular attraction. Though the word "palace" applied to the residence might be overstating it a bit, the gardens themselves are palatial! Balchik was once part of Romania, and during that time (pre-WWII), the palace was the favorite summer residence of Queen Marie of Romania. It was tough to find a lot more info on the town and the garden. I'm hoping some of you will have more luck, if so inspired!
